Unimot Renewables signs an agreement to acquire the Gostynin wind farm – the first project in the portfolio of the Unimot Group’s IPP platform

25.06.2026

The Unimot Group, through its subsidiary Unimot Renewables, has acquired 100% of the shares in a special purpose company implementing the Gostynin wind farm project, with a planned installed capacity of 34.2 MW, located in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The wind farm will be capable of generating electricity sufficient to supply approximately 58,000 households annually. The transaction marks the first step in implementing the strategic Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, which involves the long-term ownership and operation of the Group’s own renewable energy generation assets.

As part of the transaction, the Unimot Group acquired the wind farm project comprising nine turbines with a capacity of 3.8 MW each, together with the complete infrastructure and documentation required for its implementation, including administrative decisions, permits, rights, project documentation, and key contracts enabling the construction and commissioning of the project. The completion of the investment is planned for the first half of 2028.

Unimot Renewables is a newly established company within the Unimot Group, responsible for the acquisition, development, and long-term management of a portfolio of renewable energy assets in Poland. Operating under the IPP model, the company will develop its own assets in the areas of onshore wind energy, photovoltaics, and energy storage systems.

The IPP business model is based on the synergy of complementary capabilities: Unimot Renewables is responsible for investments and asset management, while Unimot Energia i Gaz contributes its expertise in energy contracting, electricity sales, commercial balancing, and energy portfolio management. Accordingly, the energy produced by the wind farm will be contracted by Unimot Energia i Gaz. The combination of these competencies is intended to provide a significant competitive advantage for the developing IPP platform and support the long-term generation of revenues from electricity production generated by the Group’s own renewable energy assets.

“Gostynin is the first project in the Unimot Renewables portfolio and an important step in building our IPP platform. We selected it because it meets our rigorous value and risk criteria. Thanks to the integration with Unimot Energia i Gaz in the area of energy contracting, we are able to optimally monetize the production from this asset,” says Paweł Nowodziński, President of the Management Board of Unimot Renewables. “As Unimot Renewables, we do not intend to be merely a project developer. Our strategy is to manage assets over the long term and integrate energy generation and sales using advanced IT tools, such as DUB and VPP,” he adds.

“This project is an important step in the further transformation of the Unimot Group and the consistent development of our capabilities in the field of modern energy. Through Unimot Renewables, we aim to create a platform focused primarily on building long-term value for the Group through the ownership and operation of our own assets. Amid the current turbulence in the energy market, we clearly see that the direction of change remains unambiguous – the future belongs to electrification, and its importance for the economy, industry, and energy security will continue to grow. This direction is fully aligned with our vision of the future energy market – one based on the integration of generation, trading, and flexible portfolio management,” says Adam Sikorski, President of the Management Board of Unimot S.A.

The development of the wind farm project represents an important step in the further transformation of the Unimot Group and the consistent development of its capabilities in the field of modern energy. The investment is aligned with the Unimot Group Strategy for 2024–2028, which identifies the development of own generation sources, including investments in wind farms, as one of the key pillars of the energy transition. By building a portfolio of renewable energy assets based on the IPP model, the Group is strengthening its position in the energy market and creating long-term value for shareholders.
